McGill Projects is the home for builders. We are not just creating a place — we are creating a revolution. It’s a place where the most passionate learners and builders come together to improve the world through their projects in this most import century. We are inspired by the past and energized by the future.

Community Report Summary

Since February, McGill Projects has experienced significant growth and development. Our community now boasts over 470+ members, a remarkable 200+ new additions in just a few months. We are proud to say that this thriving environment has fostered the exchange of ideas, collaboration, and skill-building among our members.

In the last 2 months, we've successfully hosted 6 interactive workshops and hangouts., spanning a range of topics and disciplines. These events are designed to be technical lecture for presenters to share their passions and inspire others.

One of the highlights of this period was the McGill Projects Showcase Event, where our members gathered to present their creations and share their progress with a wider audience. This celebration of creativity and collaboration truly embodied the spirit of our community.

Additionally, we organized the #100-days-of-code event, which inspired and challenged our members to commit to consistent coding practice, ultimately accelerating their growth and learning in the process.

Throughout these initiatives, our engaging and supportive community has been the backbone of our success. We are fortunate to have 10 dedicated maintainers who work tirelessly to ensure a smooth, enriching experience for all members.

As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering an environment of learning, innovation, and collaboration at McGill Projects. We are excited about the future and look forward to empowering even more passionate individuals to make their mark on the world.

Activities Report

McGill Projects Showcase

The McGill Projects Showcase is a beginner-friendly event aimed at recognizing innovative developers, designers, and engineers who have addressed real-world challenges. With over $350 in prizes, participants can showcase their personal projects. This contest welcomes projects from various domains, with the goal of attracting McGill talents.

Workshops

Proposed and maintained : Santosh, Yusuf, Jingxiang Mo, Auguste.

Our workshops were led by expert presenters, covering topics such as VAEs and generative models, spectre vulnerability, frontend development, and superscalar computer architecture. With an average turnout of over 20 participants per event, these workshops have provided valuable learning and socializing experiences for our members. To further enhance the experience, Jingxiang Mo and Tommy He generously provided free pizza at each gathering.
